
Qatar has rejected Israel’s request to build a temporary consulate. The Egypt Independent reported on Wednesday (14 September) that Israel has requested Qatar to open a consulate ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Al-Jazeera news channel reported that FIFA World Cup-2022 will be held in Qatar’s capital Doha next November. Meanwhile, Qatar does not want Israel to have “any direct contact” with them.
Earlier, it was reported that a temporary consulate had been opened to serve Israeli citizens attending FIFA matches. Qatar has now clarified the matter.
