A study on the environmental impact of Stadium 974 in Qatar – the first completely demolished tournament venue in the history of the FIFA World Cup – has been published.

The report titled ‘Greenhouse Gas Emission Analysis of a Demountable FIFA World Cup ™ Stadium’ was commissioned by FIFA and distributed by emission reduction experts.

Stadium 974 is primarily built from shipping containers and recycled steel. It is located in Doha – near Hamad International Airport and opposite the stunning West Bay. The venue hosted its first match on 30 November 2021 during the FIFA Arab Cup. During Qatar 2022, the stadium will host seven matches up to the Round of 16 stages.
